- After the attack on the restaurant, an investigation into attempted murder.

After an attack on a pizzeria in Eislingen (district of Göppingen), two teenagers are being investigated, among other things, for attempted murder. Initial investigations by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Ulm and the Criminal Police have strengthened the suspicion that the two juveniles were involved in the crime, as stated in a joint press release on Monday.

On Sunday, a judge in Ulm issued arrest warrants for the suspicion of attempted murder in conjunction with the detonation of an explosive device, as well as arson. The boys are in custody. The background to the crime is still unknown, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

At the time of the explosion, two men aged 53 and 56 were in the pizzeria. They were slightly injured. One of them is the owner.

Damage is estimated at at least 50,000 euros

The suspects are said to have initially thrown a stone through a window before at least one of them allegedly threw an explosive or incendiary device through the hole into the restaurant. The age and identity of the two suspects are not being disclosed by the prosecution.

There was a powerful blast: All the windows on the ground floor and first floor, as well as the furniture in the pizzeria, were damaged. The police initially estimated the damage at at least 50,000 euros. Witnesses were asked to come forward.

No connection to the bloody feud

There is currently no indication of a connection to the bloody feud between two rival groups in the Stuttgart area. "We have no evidence for that," said a spokeswoman for the prosecution.

The two groups - one roughly assigned to the region of Esslingen, Ludwigsburg and Plochingen, the other to the Stuttgart district of Zuffenhausen and Göppingen - are said to have more than 500 members, mostly young people, according to earlier estimates by experts. According to the State Criminal Police Office, more than 70 suspected members have been arrested so far. More than 200 search warrants have been executed, 31 firearms have been seized, and around 50 knives have been secured. However, the reasons for the bloody conflict between the two groups remain largely unclear. According to the assessment of LKA President Andreas Stenger, it is not about family clans or classic organized crime.

The investigation into the pizzeria attack in Eislingen has led to two teenagers being suspected of attempted murder and involvement in the crime. Despite causing significant damage estimated at 50,000 euros and injuring two men, there appears to be no connection to the ongoing feud between rival groups in Stuttgart.
