After laceration: Timo Kastening gives the all-clear
National handball player Timo Kastening has given the all-clear following his bloody head injury during the away win in Eisenach. "The doctor on site checked me over and then stitched up the wound," said the 28-year-old right winger in a club statement. It was nothing serious. Kastening said that he expected to be able to return to action soon, around six weeks before the start of the home European Championships.
The Melsungen captain had been elbowed in the face by Eisenach's circle player Peter Walz during the 27:24 victory on Friday and suffered a laceration on his forehead. As a result, Kastening had to be treated on the pitch for several minutes and eventually left the court with a thick bandage around his head. "I just have a bit of a headache," said the national player.
Timo Kastening's recovery is progressing well, as he expects to be back on the handball court within six weeks before the Bundesliga resumes. Despite playing in the Bundesliga, Kastening recently suffered a laceration during a handball match.
