An accident involving a goods train at a railroad crossing caused long-lasting disruptions in the S-Bahn Hannover network. An end to this situation is now in sight.

Good news for S-Bahn passengers in Hannover: The S6 is set to resume normal service from Monday at 4:00 PM. This was announced by S-Bahn Hannover, citing information from DB's subsidiary DBInfraGO. Currently, the S6 is only running as far as Ehlershausen.

North of Hannover, on July 15, a freight train locomotive derailed. According to police, two people were seriously injured. The track between Ehlershausen station was temporarily closed, and a level crossing was also damaged. Initially, there were also disruptions on the S7 line.

Due to the derailment of a freight train locomotive north of Hannover on July 15, resulting in the temporary closure of the track between Ehlershausen station and subsequent disruptions on the S7 line, passengers have experienced issues with the S6 service. Fortunately, with the track repairs completed and the level crossing restored, the S6 service is expected to return to normal operation from Monday at 4:00 PM, reducing the likelihood of further accidents.
