After forced break: Tuchel hopes for trio against Union Berlin

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has left open the appearances of defenders Minjae Kim and Noussair Mazraoui and attacker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the upcoming Bundesliga home game against 1. FC Union Berlin. Tuchel said after FC Bayern Munich's 0-0 draw against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday evening that he hoped the injured Kim and Choupo-Moting would be fine for the weekend. "But we won't know until Thursday and Friday."

Kim had to miss the Champions League game due to a bruised hip, Choupo-Moting because of knee problems. It was hoped that Mazraoui, who was unable to play due to a stomach bug, would be able to play against the Danish champions. "He felt sick again in the hotel today, then he went home," reported Tuchel.

Tuchel had already expressed hope before the game that international Jamal Musiala would soon be able to play again after tearing his muscle fibers. "Hopefully he'll return to team training on Thursday," said Tuchel, "but we'll have to see if he's good enough against Union."

Despite the setback with Mazraoui's recurring illness, Tuchel remains optimistic about FC Bayern Munich's defense for the Bundesliga clash against 1st FC Union Berlin. If Kim and Choupo-Moting recover as expected, they could join the lineup, having missed the Champions League game against FC Copenhagen and the game against FC Copenhagen's rival, FC Copenhagen, respectively. Tuchel's squad will also benefit from the potential return of Jamal Musiala, who's been sidelined due to a muscle injury, in time for the Union Berlin match.
