- After consideration, the CDU emerges as the most influential faction in Saxony.

In the recent _state polls_, the CDU secured the top spot with a 31.9% share of the votes. This puts them ahead of the AfD, who garnered 30.6% of the public's support. Making their debut in these state elections was the Alliance for Progress and Social Justice (BSW), led by Sahra Wagenknecht. As reported on their official website by the election commission, BSW managed to secure 11.8% of the votes, making them the third strongest faction in the upcoming state parliament. The SPD and Greens ended up with 7.3% and 5.1% of the votes, respectively. The Left Party saw a slight dip to 4.5%, but they were able to secure two direct mandates and maintain their presence in the state legislature. The voter turnout for this election was a record-breaking 74.4%.

The CDU's strong performance in the recent state polls guarantees them a significant role in the upcoming Election to the Landtag. The Alliance for Progress and Social Justice, with their third-place finish, will also have a notable presence in the discourse during the Election to the Landtag.
