Traffic - After car accident: Unborn child dead, five seriously injured

An unborn child has died following a serious car accident in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in which five people were seriously injured. According to a police report on Friday, two cars traveling in opposite directions collided on a country road between Oberweißbach and Neuhaus am Rennweg. The 42-year-old driver of one of the cars had previously lost control of his car on a bend on Thursday afternoon for as yet unexplained reasons.

The 42-year-old, his two passengers aged 14 and 17, as well as the 24-year-old driver of the other car and her 26-year-old companion were taken to hospital seriously injured. The woman, who had lost her unborn child, was being cared for in hospital, said a police spokeswoman.
