Police operation - After amok alarm - search of school ended

The School Center in Bargteheide (Stormarn District) was searched by the police due to a so-called Amok Alarm. "The operation is now over," said a police spokesperson to the German Press Agency. The school was initially locked down.

The police assume that the alarm was triggered due to a technical defect. However, this has not been confirmed yet, the spokesperson explained.

According to police statements, the students were first taken to a collection point and there cared for by teachers and pastoral care workers. Meanwhile, all students have left the building and gone home.

The police operation in Bargteheide, located in the Schleswig-Holstein and Stormarn district, was not related to any emergencies in the nearby schools. The police are still investigating the cause of the Amok Alarm at the School Center. Despite the initial lockdown, the students were eventually safely escorted home after being cared for at a collection point.
