In Mannheim, a dispute involving the use of a starter pistol resulted in the suspects, a 23-year-old man and his 19-year-old female companion, being pursued and attacked with pepper spray by the victims. A 23-year-old had gotten into an altercation with two others, a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old, according to a police spokeswoman. Shots were fired, injuring the 19-year-old lightly and damaging his clothing. The 21-year-old was unharmed.

The 23-year-old then fled with his 19-year-old companion on an e-scooter. The alleged victims pursued them and eventually attacked them with pepper spray, lightly injuring the 19-year-old girl. She was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

All three individuals involved in the initial dispute were later brought to the station. It was discovered that the 23-year-old was under the influence of cannabis, amphetamine, and morphine.
