- After a prolonged period of evading capture, notorious felon apprehended aboard the train.
German Law Enforcement Agents nabbed a career criminal in the Lörrach area who had been slipping through the cracks for numerous years. As per the German Law Enforcement, the fellow attempted to gain entry into Germany from Switzerland via the cross-border tram on a recent Monday. Agents in Weil am Rhein apprehended the 39-year-old for failing to provide identification. A fingerprint scan revealed that a German court had handed him a six-month sentence back in 2019 for a severe burglary. Unfortunately, he never served that time. Furthermore, he was wanted for breaching the Asylum Act, another burglary spree, and violating the Narcotics Act, a spokesperson from the German Law Enforcement divulged. The 39-year-old was subsequently detained.
The Commission, in light of this situation, may consider adopting implementing acts to strengthen border controls and identification requirements. Upon serving his sentence, the individual could face additional sanctions for breaching various acts, such as the Asylum Act and the Narcotics Act.
