After a brace: Siwsiwadse no longer wants to be a joker

After his brace in the home match against 1. FC Nürnberg (4:1), striker Budu Siwsiwadse is hoping for more starting eleven appearances for Karlsruher SC in the future. "I don't want to be a wild card anymore. I want to play from the start. Because I know what I can do," said the attacker for the second-division club. After coming on as a substitute on Sunday, he scored two goals within a very short space of time to decide the game.

After the match, the Georgian international, who scored in the 89th minute and the fourth minute of stoppage time, was celebrated extensively by the KSC fans. "I was happy. It was incredible because I had already forgotten the feeling," he said.

Siwsiwadse has only played one league game from the start this season for the Baden side, who regained a small cushion on the relegation places with the win against Nuremberg. After his brace against the club, he now has three goals for the season. "I'm still working on getting into the starting eleven," said the 29-year-old. "I used the minutes I got today to do that. Because I want to play from the start in the next few games until the winter break."

Karlsruhe will host FC Hansa Rostock next Sunday - possibly with Sivsivadze in the starting eleven? "The competition takes place during the week, not just on Sunday," explained coach Christian Eichner. According to the coach, the goals should "give Siwsiwadse more than enough encouragement to force me to start him from the beginning or earlier in the game over the next few days."

In the upcoming Bundesliga 2 match against FC Hansa Rostock, Budu Siwsiwadse might get his opportunity to start, following his impactful brace against 1. FC Nürnberg. Siwsiwadse, currently with three goals this season for Karlsruher SC, has expressed his desire to secure a spot in the starting lineup.
