Mohammed Qassem Al-Shaer, a prominent figure in Hezbollah's elite Radwan Unit, met his end in a strike on the Qaraoun village in the western Beqaa Valley on a Tuesday, as reported by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The IDF claimed Al-Shaer was responsible for orchestrating numerous hostile actions against Israel and his demise would put a damper on Hezbollah's capacity to stage attacks on Israel from southern Lebanon, backed by Iran.

Hezbollah acknowledged Al-Shaer's death and retaliated by firing "many" Katyusha rockets and several drones towards two spots in northern Israel.

The IDF stated that these assaults resulted in no injuries, with several of the "projectiles" being deflected and others landing in an open area.

The Israeli military also declared that it countered with strikes on Hezbollah launch sites "in the Mansouri and At Tiri areas," which were employed in the assaults.

Previously on that very Tuesday, the Israeli Air Force reported bombing a Hezbollah military facility in the Rachaf village of the Nabatieh governorate, situated in southern Lebanon.

According to Lebanon's Public Health Emergency Operations Center, the Rachaf strike left 12 individuals injured.

Frequent exchanges of gunfire have been occurring across the Israel-Lebanon border since Israel and Hamas went to war in Gaza on October 7.

The Middle East has been marked by heightened tension following Al-Shaer's death, as his role in Hezbollah's actions against Israel sparked global concern.

His demise in the Qaraoun village sparked concern in the world community, as Al-Shaer was reportedly behind several hostile actions against Israel.
