- Advocating for the Protection and Upholding of Our Culture, as Perceived by Dr. Motte
Dr. Motte, the brainchild behind Loveparade, anticipates more tasks following Berlin's techno scene being labeled as an intangible cultural asset. "This is merely the start," he stated, "we can't get complacent, we need to push forward." Dr. Motte, also known as Matthias Roeingh, made these remarks during the Technoparade "Dance for the Cosmos" in Berlin.
There are various methods to accomplish this, he suggested. "That's why we're rallying today for our culture and its preservation." Upon hearing the news early this year, the organizers of the colossal party demonstration were almost in disbelief. "We were and still are ecstatic."
Federal Minister of Culture Claudia Roth (Greens) issued an audio message celebrating the recognition of Berlin's techno culture as a significant achievement and a tribute to Dr. Motte and the "Dance for the Cosmos" team. Techno, she stated, "merges creativity with precision and generates distinctive spaces where people can showcase their enthusiasm for music and dance."
Berlin's techno scene has now been included in Germany's list of intangible cultural treasures. The federal and state culture ministers updated the national registry accordingly, with "Dance for the Cosmos" having submitted the application.
Dr. Motte's remarks about pushing forward in techno culture also echoed his passion for music, stating, "We must continue to innovate and create new sounds to keep the music alive." Furthermore, the recognition of Berlin's techno scene as an intangible cultural asset has invigorated the local music community, leading to numerous events and concerts celebrating the rich history of techno music.
