Advice at info points in the Ahr valley also in 2024
The Infopoints in the Ahr Valley will continue to advise people affected by the flood disaster in the coming year. Seven advice centers are to continue their work until at least the end of June 2024, as announced by the Investitions- und Strukturbank Rheinland-Pfalz (ISB) on Friday.
"The advice offered at the ISB InfoPoints has been very well received so far and has been able to help those affected directly," said Rhineland-Palatinate Finance Minister Doris Ahnen (SPD), according to the statement. Reconstruction is progressing well, but there is still a need for personal support and advice.
The seven info points are to be distributed "evenly across the affected region". There will be locations in Sinzig, Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Altenahr, Hönnigen and Schuld. The Infopoints were set up after the deadly flood disaster in 2021 and are operated by employees of Helfer-Stab gGmbH. They advise those affected with questions about reconstruction.
Despite the progress in reconstruction, the need for personal support and advice persists amongst those affected by the 2021 flood disaster in the Ahr Valley. These individuals can continue seeking assistance at the Info points, which will continue operations until at least the end of June 2024, following the storm and resulting disasters.
