St. Nicholas Day marks the start of the Advent market in Zeitz in the Burgenland district. After the opening on Wednesday, the market is set to attract visitors to the town until the third Advent (December 17).
According to the city administration, the centrally located Altmarkt at the town hall is the focal point of the pre-Christmas spectacle. The Zeitz Advent market includes various arts and crafts, live music, a creative market and activities for younger guests. Wishes to Santa Claus can be handed in directly at the town's Christmas post office. This closes again on December 14.
In addition to the usual culinary delights such as lard cake, mulled wine and gingerbread, the Zeitzer Knusperstollen with crunchy flakes will be available again after its premiere last year.
