Holidays - Advent market at Germany's oldest thoroughbred stud farm

The oldest German thoroughbred stud farm in the Harz Mountains is hosting a Christmas market for the first time. On the first and second weekend of Advent, visitors will be able to enter the stables and riding hall in Bad Harzburg, among other things, according to the organizers Harzventure. More than 70 artisans will be exhibiting and selling their work at the Christmas market.

The various buildings of the stud farm will be decorated with light installations, among other things, explained the organizers of the paid event. In addition to the 70 or so stalls of the Vienenburg Art Farm, which offer ceramics and candles, among other things, there will also be food on offer and performances by musicians and brass bands, according to the organizers.

The area is normally reserved for riders and officials of the race week in Bad Harzburg. The Bad Harzburg stud farm dates back to the beginning of the 15th century and was first mentioned in a document in 1542. At the end of 2016, it was saved from possible insolvency by a local alliance.
