Spotted in Cottbus: Latest Development and Controversies - Adolescent wields convincing replica firearm

At Cottbus Main Train Station over the weekend, a 14-year-old was caught with a realistic-looking airsoft gun replica. According to a statement made by the police on Monday, this fake weapon was confiscated from the teenager by the Federal Police. A passenger saw the minor in the afternoon on Sunday and reported the incident to the Federal Police at the station. Just before boarding a regional train, the boy was stopped by officers who took the convincing toy gun away from him. At the Cottbus police station, the 14-year-old told authorities that he had been given the pistol as a gift and believed it was clearly identifiable as a toy. The authorities are now investigating the incident for an infraction. Following the conclusion of the police procedures, the mother and son were allowed to leave.
