- adolescent party attendee endures severe harm in assault
At the Brokser Markt festival in the Diepholz district, a 17-year-old kid got badly hurt by an unknown assailant. The cops are in the dark about the attack's reasons so far. People at the scene reported that the teen was whacked on the head with what seemed like a beer mug, around dawn on Saturday. The incident took place in a parking lot in Bruchhausen-Vilsen.
The story goes that the 17-year-old tried to step in when a young lady was being bothered by an older man. This man then targeted the teenager, leading to a spat.
After a witness called for help, a 39-year-old man from the Nienburg district surrendered to the cops in Syke at midday on Saturday, admitting to being the suspect. He claimed that he was the one initially attacked and injured before retaliating. The suspect was released after interrogation.
The cops are hoping to get more information from the young woman that the 17-year-old supposedly defended. Unfortunately, she's yet to be found.
The festival where the incident occurred is held annually in the Diepholz district, which is located in the German state of Lower Saxony. Despite the suspect's claim of self-defense, the teenage victim is still recovering in a local hospital in Lower Saxony.
