Aid for rural hospitals - Additional cash injection for nine Thuringian hospitals
Nine hospitals in Thuringen can count on an additional financial injection from health insurances next year. They will receive a so-called securitization subsidy, as stated in an agreement between the associations of insurances and hospitals. In total, according to Barmer health insurance, 3.2 million Euro will flow into Thuringen.
Among the recipients of these subsidies are the Thuringia Clinics in Saalfeld, the Helios Clinic in Meiningen, the KMG Hospital Sondershausen, and the communal clinic Bad Salzungen. The hospital Schleiz, which is run by a private trustee and has been in self-administered insolvency proceedings for some time, is also supposed to receive a subsidy.
To receive the funding of around 400,000 Euro each, the institutions must operate specialized departments for Internal Medicine and Surgery, and ensure basic emergency care. The criteria have been defined by the associations, based on the Hospital Financing Act. Nationwide, 60 Million Euro will be paid to 121 hospitals next year.
