Law enforcement officials and criminal police have dealt a major blow to global drug smugglers. According to an announcement from the Frankfurt police headquarters on Tuesday, a shipment of 525 kilograms of cocaine was seized a week ago. Six individuals are currently in custody.
The probe had been underway since October 2023, aiming to dismantle a gang that unlawfully trafficked drugs and conducted businesses revolving around them in Frankfurt. Authorities uncovered a planned transfer operation at Dietzenbach (Offenbach district) and intercepted a vehicle containing 225 kilograms of cocaine. The driver, aged 33, was apprehended.
Further investigations in Frankfurt and the surrounding regions led to the arrests of five more suspects aged 25 to 48 and the discovery of an additional 300 kilograms of cocaine. The court ordered pretrial detention for all six suspects.
