- Action against speed bumps: Blitzmarathon in Brandenburg

Starting Monday, police will conduct enhanced speed checks for a week. Brandenburg is participating in the speed camera marathon from August 5th to 11th, as announced by the police in Potsdam. Excessive speed is a common cause of accidents. The "Operation Speed" is taking place across Europe to strengthen traffic surveillance.

In April, there was a large-scale speed camera action where 131 locations in Brandenburg were used to monitor the speed of traffic participants. In total, 74,037 traffic accidents were recorded in the state last year. Apart from excessive speed, insufficient safety distance is a frequent cause of accidents.

During the speed camera marathon, radar traps will be extensively used to enforce speed limits. To prevent accidents caused by neglecting speed limits, it's crucial to be vigilant at radar trap locations.
