In a sulfuric acid leak in a basement of a dairy plant in Zapfendorf (district of Bamberg), two people were lightly injured. Around 100 to 200 liters of sulfuric acid leaked early in the morning, a police spokesman said. Consequently, around 130 emergency services were deployed. The police initially suspected a technical defect as the cause. The danger was limited to the basement, with no risk to residents. The acid leak was reported to the control center by employees on site.

The police spokesman provided information about the incident, stating the cause as initially suspected to be a technical defect. Later in the day, the police were required to manage traffic around the dairy plant due to the large presence of emergency services.
