- Accused Funeral Service Professional Appears in Court Once More
A deceitful funeral director, who served time in prison for swindling numerous females, is set to face trial once more, commencing on Monday at 9:00 AM. This new indictment, as per the Rostock court, includes nine incidents from February 2020 to March 2022. The charges include unpaid labor services and damages exceeding 106,000 euros.
Back in May 2023, the district court convicted the 49-year-old individual to a 3.5-year imprisonment term. The judge established that he capitalized on the emotional turmoil of several women to pocket significant sums of money. The Higher Regional Court of Rostock will delve into these instances during an appeals hearing scheduled for November 20. The cases garnered public interest following the ARD documentary titled "The Funeral Scam Artist".
The deceitful funeral director will be tried for the new charges at The Court of First Instance in Rostock, starting on Monday at 9:00 AM. After serving his sentence, any penalties imposed by The Court of First Instance in these latest cases will be added to his original prison term.
