Following a collision** with a truck, a 19-year-old driver is in critical condition. The man from the Fulda district was traveling on the federal highway 254 from the direction of Bimbach when, for unknown reasons, he veered off the road to the left, as reported by the police. His car then collided head-on with a truck with a trailer.
The 53-year-old truck driver attempted to swerve but was unsuccessful. The rescue services extracted the 19-year-old with life-threatening injuries from the wreckage. He was taken to a hospital, where his condition is critical. The truck driver, who was in shock, was also taken to the hospital. The estimated property damage is 27,000 euros. The B254 was fully closed in both directions for several hours.
