Accident on the road causes internet and telephone outage
Several hundred households in Siegsdorf (Traunstein district) were temporarily without internet and telephone service on Tuesday evening due to an icy accident involving a 29-year-old driver. The driver drove off the road to the left due to the slippery road surface and damaged three telephone distribution boxes and a billboard in the process, the police reported on Wednesday morning. A police spokesperson was unable to say this morning whether the resulting telephone and internet outage had already been rectified. The person responsible for the accident remained unharmed.
The icy road conditions in Upper Bavaria have been a factor in multiple traffic accidents lately. Despite the efforts to clear the roads, the weather continues to pose challenges, leading to unpredictable driving conditions.
