County of Bayreuth - Accident on the A9: Over ten thousand liters of milk spill out
More than ten thousand liters of milk have leaked out after a truck skidded and overturned on the A9 freeway in Upper Franconia. The milk truck, which was traveling on the A 9 near Pegnitz (Bayreuth district) on Thursday, was carrying a total of 21,000 liters, according to the police. More than half of this had already seeped into the ditch next to the road, said a spokesman. Initially, the emergency services were unable to prevent further milk from leaking out.
The 51-year-old driver of the truck was moderately injured in the accident. The highway was initially partially closed in the northbound direction for recovery work, with only the left lane open.
