District of Würzburg - Accident in Lower Franconia: One dead, four seriously injured
A 44-year-old driver was killed in a head-on collision on a state road in Lower Franconia on Friday. Four other people were seriously injured, one of them - a 19-year-old - is in mortal danger, as the police announced in the evening.
The accident happened at around 6.30 p.m. on the state road 2269 between Röttingen and Tauberrettersheim in the district of Würzburg. According to current information, the 19-year-old lost control of his car, in which three 17-year-olds were also sitting, on a long bend. There was a head-on collision with the 44-year-old's car.
All five people involved in the accident were trapped in the vehicles. For the 44-year-old, all help came too late. The 19-year-old and his passengers were taken to hospital.
