A car overturned multiple times on the A20 highway in the Landkreis Vorpommern-Greifswald, after the driver slumped at the wheel. The 65-year-old driver and his 59-year-old passenger were lightly injured in the accident, according to the police.

The vehicle reportedly left the road between the Anklam and Jarmen interchanges, traveled hundreds of meters over the shoulder, overturned, and landed on its roof. The two occupants were able to free themselves from the car.

A criminal procedure was initiated against the driver due to suspicion of endangering traffic.

The incident occurred in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania region, specifically in the District of Vorpommern-Greifswald. The driver experienced a microsleep, causing the car to veer off the A20 highway. Despite the severe accident, both individuals managed to exit the overturned car safely in the traffic-heavy area. Upon investigation, the local police issued a notice for the potential traffic endangerment offense.
