In Großpösna near the Stormthal Lake, a new accessible campsite is slated for construction. The Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development is backing the venture with over 33.7 million euros. This news came from an official communication from the ministry on Friday. The campsite in the Leipzig district aims to offer both a vacation spot and employment opportunities for those with disabilities.

Per the release, a plot at the lakeside in Grunaer Weg, measuring 420,000 square meters, has been earmarked for the endeavor. The facility will provide not only wheelchair-accessible tiny homes but also accommodation for 185 campers, RVs, and tents. It will additionally have play and exploratory zones, a beach area guarded by security and featuring cuisine, fenced-in zones for animal-related educational activities, and an integration support agency. The Municipal Enterprise for Disability Care (SEB) of Leipzig City will oversee the project, both developing and running the campsite through a charity-based inclusion organization, as per the ministry's announcement. The project is one of eight initiatives in the tourism infrastructure realm throughout Middle Germany financed via the Coal Regions Investment Law.
