Aachen wins bid for the 2026 World Equestrian Games
The CHIO Aachen will host the World Championships in six equestrian disciplines in 2026. According to the World Equestrian Federation FEI, Aachen was awarded the contract on Saturday (local time) in Mexico City. The last World Championships were held in Aachen in 2006.
World Championships are planned in the Olympic disciplines of dressage, show jumping and eventing as well as para-dressage, driving and vaulting. The competitions will take place from August 10th to 23rd. 17 years ago, 576,000 spectators watched the WEG competitions at the Aachen Soers.
The six equestrian disciplines featured in the 2026 World Equestrian Games include dressage, show jumping, and eventing, as well as para-dressage, driving, and vaulting. Aachen's bid to host the WEG includes competitive jumping events. The upcoming WEG in Aachen is anticipated to attract a large audience, much like the 2006 Games where 576,000 spectators attended.
