District of Saale-Holzland - A9 highway witness: Driver sufering serious injuries after a truck collision.
On Saturday, a truck driver met with a terrible accident on the A9 Berlin-Munich highway. He was left seriously injured after a vehicle struck him as he was trying to fix his engine on the hard shoulder between Droyßig and Eisenberg junctions. Following the collision, the other driver sped off, leaving the scene of the crime.
What happened next was equally disastrous. The truck's cab burst into flames. Firefighters rushed in to rescue the injured man, but sadly, the cab burned to the ground.
The injured individual was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. The unfortunate incident caused the highway to be closed for approximately 90 minutes. The overall damage was estimated to be around €85,000.
