A7 closed for hours after accident: Three seriously injured
Three people have been seriously injured in two accidents on the A7 highway near Kempten. As a result, the A7 towards Füssen was closed for hours on Thursday, according to the police. According to the information, a 59-year-old driver had initially overlooked another car when changing lanes in the afternoon. The vehicles collided and crashed into a third car. According to the police, two of the three vehicles then overturned. A 28-year-old was seriously injured. Three people escaped with bruises, scratches and abrasions.
The accident caused a road closure and a traffic jam, the end of which a 78-year-old man overlooked, according to the police. He crashed his car into the car of a 71-year-old female driver. Both the woman and the man were seriously injured and taken to hospital. The A7 towards Füssen was only completely free again more than four hours after the first accident.
The first accident on the A7 near Kempten resulted in the highway being closed for several hours, causing traffic to build up in Swabia. Despite the ongoing traffic issues, another accident occurred later that day, leading to two additional serious injuries.
