Traffic - A6 in Middle Franconia open again after truck accident

The closure on the A6 due to a three-vehicle accident involving three trucks near Schwabach in Mittelfranken has been lifted. The autobahn between the interchanges Schwabach-Süd and Schwabach-West is again open for traffic in both directions, according to a police spokesperson. This happened after an early Thursday morning accident where two truck drivers were lightly injured due to a rear-end collision.

The closure on the counterflow lane was lifted in the evening, but another accident occurred between two trucks in the traffic jam, as the police reported in the night. Consequently, the A6 was to be closed in both directions between Heilbronn and Nuremberg as well as between Schwabach-Süd and Schwabach-West towards Heilbronn until the early morning hours.

The initial accident in Mittelfranken's Schwabach led to injuries and a closure on the A6, causing traffic disruptions. Despite the lifting of the closure, another rear-end collision occurred in the resulting traffic congestion, further complicating matters. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported from this secondary accident, but it resulted in additional blocking of the A6 between Schwabach-Süd and Schwach-West. This chain ofaccidents also affected traffic on the A6 in both directions between Heilbronn and Bavaria's Nuremberg.
