The Autobahn 6 is completely closed in both directions after an accident involving at least three heavy trucks near Schwabach in Mittelfranken. The closure affects the section between the interchanges Schwabach-South and Schwabach-West, according to a police spokesperson. The reason for the closure is cleanup work. Commuters and travelers are advised to bypass the area widely.

The causes of the accident were initially unclear. The spokesperson could not provide any information about possible injuries.

The closure on the opposite lane was lifted in the evening, but another accident occurred between two heavy trucks in the traffic jam, as the police reported in the night. As a result, the A6 was to remain closed in both directions between Heilbronn and Nuernberg as well as between Schwabach-South and Schwabach-West in the direction of Heilbronn until the early morning hours.
