Traffic - A3 closed in the direction of Cologne after accident - two injured

After a car accident with a seriously injured person, Autobahn 3 towards Cologne is closed. The complex clearing of debris at Langenfeld (Mettmann district) could last until around 10 am, according to a police spokesperson. He spoke of a "gigantic debris field". Besides the seriously injured person, another person sustained light injuries.

In the early morning hours, it appears that two cars collided, resulting in one of them losing its engine block. A third car, coming from behind, ran over the car part and overturned, according to the spokesperson. The cause of the accident is still unclear.

The closed section of Autobahn 3 is leading towards the city of Cologne, known in German as Köln. The car accident occurred in the Mettmann district, specifically in Langenfeld. Due to the extensive debris, traffic in the area is heavily affected. Another car, after colliding with the first two, suffered engine damage and subsequently overturned due to the debris.
