After a severe truck accident on the A24 autobahn three days prior, the motorway had to be shut down once more in the direction of Berlin on Monday. The road closure took place at Hornbek junction, lasting for two hours, as stated by Autobahn GmbH Nord. A detour was indicated for local traffic. Since the accident on Friday, which happened between Hornbek and Gudow on the border between Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the highway had been completely closed for over 30 hours towards Berlin. However, it reopened in a single lane early Sunday morning.

In this unfortunate incident, three trucks caught fire. The driver of one of them sustained minor injuries. The police revealed that this was a rear-end collision caused by a flat tire on a truck carrying meat.
