Transport traffic - A1 closure in Ostholstein due to accident at construction site
A truck accident without external involvement on Autobahn 1 in Ostholstein causes significant traffic disruptions. The heavy vehicle got stuck at Ratekau on Sunday morning at a construction site and displaced the concrete median barrier, as a spokesperson for the highway police said. No one was injured.
The highway had to be closed in both directions for salvage and repair works. Traffic jams formed in both directions. Progress was slow on the detour roads as well.
Due to the truck accident on Autobahn 1 in East Holstein, there was a notable increase in transport traffic on the alternative roads. The full locking of the detour routes resulted in a significant traffic obstruction in Schleswig-Holstein, leading to multiple accidents on these roads. Additionally, a construction site on one of the detour routes was also impacted by the increased traffic, causing further delays.
