Giant horror - A woman is seriously injured in a garden after a branch breaks off.

In Munich's English Garden, a large, thick branch of a tree snapped off without warning and fell on two people. "One person managed to free themselves, while passersby helped the other by lifting the branch," a fire department spokesperson described the incident.

A 27-year-old woman was struck by the branch and initially treated for serious injuries in a hospital, a police spokesperson told the German Press Agency. Another person was lightly injured and was in shock. The spokesperson did not know if this was the second person hit by the branch.

Due to the many people in the popular park, a large number of police, rescue services, and firefighters initially responded. A rescue helicopter was also on standby but not needed. The first responders were supported by a crisis intervention team. The branch was from a very robust specimen of a large old tree. The fire department is to clarify why the branch broke off and remove it latest by the next few days.

The incident in the English Garden was a distressing one, with several accidents occurring. Fortunately, the 27-year-old woman, who was severely injured by the falling branch, is now receiving medical attention.
