In Schelklingen's Alb-Donau-Kreis, a 14-year-old was struck by a car on Friday night while crossing the street disregarding a red light. The 27-year-old driver, who was unable to evade the collision, managed a full brake. Emergency services transported the injured minor to the hospital.

Reports state that the youth wore headphones at the time of the incident. Others on the scene stated that the teen was alerted about the red light by fellow road users, but it's uncertain if he heard it over his headphones. The police speculated as much.
