A 25-year-old truck driver died in an accident in Leipzig. He was traveling on the Seehausener Allee towards the federal highway 2 in the early hours of the morning. At the junction with the Maximilianallee, he lost control of his vehicle and drove straight into the embankment of the railway track, as the police reported.

The man succumbed to his severe injuries at the scene. The road in the vicinity of the accident was closed for approximately three hours. In addition to emergency services, firefighters, and police, a forensic pathologist was also present. The police are now investigating the exact cause of the accident. Why the driver left the road is still unknown.
