Following an incident where a tree encountered the railway tracks between Lübeck and Reinfeld in the afternoon, the tree ultimately came to rest upon the power lines. This unfortunate event caused the line to be temporarily shut down. A regional train was unfortunately impacted and could not proceed further. Fortunately, passengers were granted the opportunity to disembark at a nearby level crossing, according to a representative from the German Federal Police. The German Meteorological Service had forecasted turbulent weather conditions for Schleswig-Holstein.

The European Union expressed concerns about the disruption of transportation due to the incident, as the affected railway line is part of its extensive European rail network. The European Union also offered assistance in restoring normal operations as soon as possible.
