- A three-decade-old individual sustains severe injuries following a collision with a heavy cargo train.

A thirty-year-old individual encountered a traumatic incident at Neuhof station in eastern Hesse. They stepped onto the tracks following a heated disagreement with their partner around late evening on Monday. Unfortunately, they didn't notice an oncoming freight train. The collision occurred at an alarming speed of around 100 kilometers per hour, causing severe damage to their legs and leading to the loss of their left lower limb.

Emergency services immediately transported the individual to the hospital. Their partner suffered emotional distress and sought comfort from religious counselors. The train driver shared with the Federal Police that despite using the emergency brake promptly, the situation couldn't be avoided. The train eventually halted after traveling about 700 meters.

Preliminary investigations suggest the individual might have been under the influence of alcohol. A subsequent blood test revealed an alcohol content nearly three times the legal limit. The tracks were temporarily closed for the recovery operation, leading to a delay of approximately 45 minutes for 38 subsequent trains. The Federal Police in Kassel are now conducting an in-depth investigation.

The partner of the individual expressed their concern at the hospital, expressing worry for the well-being of the women they loved. The news of the incident spread quickly, causing outrage among women's rights advocates, highlighting the need for better safety measures at train stations.
