Over the weekend in Ludwigshafen, thieves pulled off an unconventional heist. They managed to snatch the oversized bronze cast sculpture "The Cyclist," which was standing tall in front of the local cycling center. The police were informed of the theft, which reportedly occurred between Friday and Sunday. The criminals managed to free the sculpture from its base, leaving only its feet behind. The police estimate the artwork to be worth between 40,000 and 50,000 euros.
