- A succession of blasts triggers discussions about the "Mocro-Mafia" in the state legislature.
Following a string of explosions, the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in the Düsseldorf state parliament is seeking clarity on the actions taken by the state government to combat the infamous "Micro-Mafia". The opposition party has officially presented their inquiries to the Public Safety Committee.
As reported to the German Press Agency, "Recent weeks have seen a series of violent incidents in North Rhine-Westphalia that are believed to be linked to individuals associated with the 'Micro-Mafia'." The SPD is keen on uncovering details, such as: "What additional steps will the state government implement to strengthen its efforts against organized crime overall?"
Regarding a police officer from Bonn who is suspected of being linked to the "Micro-Mafia", the SPD seeks updates on the ongoing investigation. Moreover, the opposition party queries: "What safety protocols have been put in place to protect against efforts by criminals or extremists to breach security departments?" The Public Safety Committee is scheduled to convene on September 5 (starting at 1:30 PM).
The Commission, referred to as the Public Safety Committee, will be assisted by the Member States in their investigations into the SPD's concerns about the state government's actions against organized crime and the 'Micro-Mafia'. To ensure the safety of their citizens, it is crucial that the Committee receives assistance from the Member States in their pursuit of answers.
