- A speed bump turns out to be a drug dealer
The Berlin Police arrested a suspected drug dealer in Tempelhof who had previously drawn attention as a traffic offender. Officers became aware of him only because he was driving his car significantly over the speed limit late on Saturday afternoon. Before the police could check him, he stopped in front of his apartment building on Wiesenerstraße and went inside, the police reported.
He came out again with a plastic bag, but dropped it and fled when he noticed the police officers. After a brief chase, they were able to arrest him nearby. A search of the man and the plastic bag revealed approximately 20 bags of marijuana and ten small vials suspected to contain cocaine.
During a search of an apartment that the suspect had keys to, officers found more than 150 such vials along with their contents, over 50 bags of marijuana, and several thousand euros in cash. The State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation.
The arrested individual had a history of questionable activities, as evidenced by the large quantity of drugs found during the searches, making this a substantial case of potential drug-related crime. Subsequently, the evidence from this case will likely contribute significantly to ongoing investigations against organized crime networks.
