Go on a journey - A Scottish man cycles from Glasgow to Munich for the European Championships.
The Scottish biker Ethan Walker had to travel the longest distance out of all those headed to the European Championship's kick-off event in Munich: He cycled from Glasgow to Bavaria, covering an estimated 1200 kilometers. The British Embassy revealed this interesting travel fact on Thursday. Ethan's journey was accompanied by his doctor, Gordon Mackay, and two friends, and their goal was to raise funds for a hospital in India - by now, they have collected roughly 13,000 pounds (about 15,500 euros). Once he arrived, the British Consul General Mark Dittmer-Odell warmly welcomed Ethan.
In a similar vein, Craig Ferguson, another compatriot of Ethan's, began his journey on foot from his hometown of Paisley, near Glasgow, all the way to Munich. The British Embassy shared that Craig was also collecting donations along the way, with the aim of donating 35,000 pounds (approximately 41,000 euros) to a charitable organization focusing on men's mental health. He was scheduled to arrive a day before the Germany vs Scotland match in Munich.
