Regional Court of Munich I - A resolution to the sausage grilling conflict is expected soon.
On Thursday, the Munich I Regional Court is set to announce its ruling in a legal battle over the term "Rostbratwurst." The Nuremberg Sausage Protective Association filed a lawsuit against a Bavarian sausage producer. They allege the company breached the "Nuremberg Rostbratwurst" brand with its product packaging and the dimensions of its "Mini-Rostbratwurst."
The association successfully petitioned the European Commission to protect this designation as a geographical indication. The Bavarian sausage manufacturer based in the town of Geiselhöring, however, disputes these allegations. As the two parties failed to reach an agreement during a negotiation meeting, the court has been tasked with making a decision.
The battle for "Rostbratwurst" continues as we await the outcome of this legal clash.
