Around 60 residents had to evacuate their homes in a multi-family dwelling and three adjoining buildings. Initial projections suggest the damage could reach €500,000. A gas cylinder apparently went off during the firefighting efforts, exacerbating the devastation. Cars nearby were also hit by the blast. No immediate damage assessment was made available for this additional damage.

Arriving firefighters found the apartment and roof structure engulfed in flames per reports. A shelter was established for the residents of the four affected buildings. Residents from the neighboring houses were allowed back inside their homes early on Thursday. The majority of the 25 residents from the burning building were temporarily relocated by the city of Ludwigsburg.
