In the outskirts of Leipzig, a rubbish bin went up in flames at an apartment complex during the wee hours. Preliminary accounts from the fire brigade suggest that the inhabitants of the building on Rudolf Straße attempted to put out the blaze on their own. Thanks to smoky conditions in the stairwell, around eleven individuals apparently made their way to the building's rear courtyard. A medics attended to four of the individuals.

Firefighters managed to remove and extinguish the bin. Once the building was aired out, all occupants were allowed back into their flats. The reason behind the rubbish bin fire remains a mystery at present. Probe is currently in progress.

Firefighters diligently extinguished the intense flames coming from the burned rubbish bin. Due to the aftermath of the fire, some residents were advised to avoid using their kitchen stoves with an open flame until the cause of the fire was determined.
