At the crash site, an 18-year-old had already lost his life. Alongside a 27-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old were admitted to the hospital with critical wounds.

The quartet was speeding down Tauentzienstraße close to the Ku'damm in their vehicle. The identity of the driver was uncertain, with police referring to it as a "solo race." Reports suggest the car was travelling at an uncontrollable speed, slammed into a concrete barrier, and then swirled violently before bursting into flames. Bystanders stepped in to put the fire out.

Two emergency responders fell victim to carbon monoxide poisoning and were rushed to the hospital, police disclosed. The fire department from platform X shared that one individual managed to extricate themselves from the scorching car, gravely injured. Two others became stuck inside and were extracted by rescuers. Five first aiders also sustained minor scrapes and received medical attention on the spot.
