Carsten Kaempf, the police chief of Chemnitz, shared some sad news with journalists. Every police officer involved in the search had hoped to find the missing girl alive. Now their focus has shifted to identifying the person or people responsible for her death.

According to further reports, the girl lost her life in a brutal attack. There was no sign of any sexual assault. Investigators are currently focusing their efforts on the social surroundings of the victim's family. The body was discovered in the dense vegetation of a wooded area, far away from any trails.
